At Handy Homes, we believe that every project we take on is as unique as the families and homes we serve. Recently, we had the opportunity to help a family upgrade their beloved basketball hoop, a project that turned out to be both challenging and rewarding. The family’s old hoop had seen years of driveway games and was much smaller and rusted from all the wear. First, we got to work by removing the old hoop, which required digging it out completely from its concrete base. Next, we had to dig a 4-foot-deep hole to ensure the new hoop would be securely anchored. To strengthen the foundation, we placed a sauna tube and rebar into the hole and filled it with 11 bags of concrete. We let it cure for 2 days, giving it time to set and hold firm for the long term. Once everything was solid, the family could hardly contain their excitement to break in the new hoop. After adding the finishing touches, the family had a brand-new setup that would last for years of games and many new memories.
